Are you using social media to drive traffic to your website or blog? Your main goal should be converting social media followers into website visitors. Sounds simple, but it’s not easy.
Take Instagram. You can’t add links to individual posts. Your only option? That single link in your Instagram bio. Where should that link go? How do you promote fresh content with one static link? Should you update it every time you post?
Shorby solves this problem while offering other helpful tools. You can even chat with customers through various messaging services—great for lead generation and customer service.
In this Shorby review with Orichi, I’ll show you how it works, what it offers, and whether it’s right for you.
Note: Shorby recently rebranded to Shor.
What is Shorby?
The Shorby landing page lacks specific details about how the tool actually works. Before the hands-on section, let me explain how Shorby helps you market more effectively on social media.
Create Optimized Micro-Landing Pages
Shorby’s biggest feature is creating optimized “micro” landing pages for your social media bios. Instead of changing your bio URL every time you publish new content, leave the link to your Shorby landing page. Shorby ensures you’re showing the right content.
Your Shorby landing page can include:
- Your latest content (from any RSS feed)
- Featured content (like pillar posts)
- Messenger links to supported services
- Price and service lists
- Links to all your social profiles
These landing pages are 100% mobile-optimized, giving followers a smooth experience from app to landing page. You get pre-set layouts that look great on smartphones.
Want an example? Check out this page we created for Blogging Wizard. It showcases latest content and highlights pillar posts.
Note: The link works best on smartphones (Shorby’s optimization focus). You can view it on desktop to understand how it works, but remember it’s not optimized for desktop users.
Open Chats via Short Links
Shorby also helps you create shortened links that automatically open live chats (or phone calls/emails) with various services. This works great for businesses relying on one-to-one sales.
The links work with:
- Facebook Messenger
- Telegram
- Skype
- Viber
- Phone calls
You can customize opening message text (for networks that support this). For example: “Please give me more information about [X]”.
Like other tools, you can add tracking pixels from all supported services.
Hands-On With Shorby
Now that you understand how Shorby helps you, let’s go hands-on. I’ll show you what it’s like working with Shorby’s features.
The Shorby dashboard is simple. You’ll see:
- Basic analytics for landing pages and links you’ve created
- Options to create two key elements:
- Smart Page (micro landing page)
- Messenger Link (chat integration)
I’ll save Smart Page for last because it’s the most detailed. Let’s start with Messenger Links.
How to Create a Chat Link
Creating a Messenger Link is simple. Go to Create → Messenger Link and fill out a short form.
First, choose which service the link directs to. Then you can:
- Enter the username or phone number for messages
- Customize the shortened URL
- Add predefined text for supported services (you can pre-fill WhatsApp messages but not Messenger)
- Add your tracking pixels
That’s it. You get a short link to share that directly opens a live chat.
How to Create a Micro Landing Page
Creating a micro landing page involves more steps because you have more customization options.
Shorby’s micro landing pages follow a basic template, but you control what content appears.
The basic template includes:
- Image/logo – Any image displayed at the top
- Title – Title text with optional subheading
- Messengers – Ways for people to connect with you
- Blocks – Buttons/cards, text, or dynamic feeds (like recent blog posts)
- Social links – Links to your other social profiles
As you add content, you see a live visual preview of your landing page.
When you add messengers, include as many services as you want. Use drag-and-drop to rearrange the order.
Next, add one or more blocks. You can add button/card blocks and choose from different layouts. Add background images if desired.
You can also add a price tag—nice for advertising products or services.
Another useful option is the dynamic feed that pulls content from any RSS feed. If you have a blog, easily showcase your latest posts. Or add a feed of recently uploaded products for an eCommerce store.
For feed items, choose how many items to include and select different layouts. I like the “Mixed” layout—it creates nice cards for each post.
Use subtitles and text to divide your blocks. Use drag-and-drop to easily rearrange block order.
To finish, add as many social links as you want at the bottom of your landing page.
One limitation: you can’t change the order between different template sections. While you can rearrange blocks, you can’t move messenger links below blocks, for example.
The Settings menu offers general settings to:
- Choose different color schemes
- Customize your landing page link
- Add tracking pixels
Once finished, start sharing your landing page using the link alias you chose.
Shorby Pricing
Shorby has different pricing plans based on features you need and the number of pages/links you create.
One big advantage of higher-tier plans is custom domain names. Instead of using “shor.by” for all links, use your own domain like “blgwzrd.com”. This works especially well for landing pages—better branding to include your own domain in social media bios.
Pros and Cons
Let’s look at Shorby’s pros and cons.
Pros
- Bio link pages made easy – Shorby is fairly easy to use. Build and customize your bio link page fast.
- Simple page customization – The interface is beginner-friendly. Just what you need to create your bio link page, without overwhelming options.
- Messenger link creation – Great for lead generation. Create short links that open Facebook Messenger conversations when readers click.
- Click tracking and basic analytics – Easily see how well your pages and links perform.
- Google Analytics integration – Unlock more data by connecting your Google Analytics account.
- Scheduled blocks (Pro plans and above) – Schedule blocks to go live at specific times to fit your marketing activities.
- Dynamic feeds (Pro plans and above) – Automatically update bio link pages with latest content from your blog and other platforms.
Cons
- Customization limitations – Advanced users may find customization options limited. However, this makes it easier for beginners.
- Some features locked behind higher tiers – Common practice but worth highlighting. Not all features are available on entry-level plans.
Alternatives to Shorby
Shorby isn’t right for everyone. Here are some alternatives:
Pallyy – If you want more value for your money, Pallyy is a good option. You get a full social media publishing tool. Besides social media scheduling and analytics, it has a fantastic bio link page tool. It combines button and grid style bio link pages into one tool.
Tap Bio – Like Shorby, this tool focuses 100% on bio link page creation. However, it takes a different design approach. It lets you create pages that look like Instagram Stories.
Woorise – Focuses on interactive landing pages. Woorise is a unique tool. While it can power giveaways and quizzes, it also offers purpose-built templates for bio link pages.
Leadpages – If you want ultimate flexibility, this is the tool. Leadpages offers one of the best landing page builders on the market. Their template selection isn’t limited to lead generation pages—it includes conversion-focused bio link templates too. Want to build your email list directly on your bio link page? You can with Leadpages.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Shorby is a really useful tool for optimizing how you engage with social media followers.
Your end goal for social media accounts should be getting people onto your website or turning them into customers. Shorby helps you do that more effectively:
Micro-landing pages let you include one link in your bios that effectively promotes both your latest and greatest content, plus anything else you want to promote (like a service list with prices).
Messenger links make it easy to engage with visitors on various platforms. If your business involves any type of one-on-one sales or interactions, this can boost your conversion rates.
